Press Release
East Arkansas Community College and the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service will present a comprehensive ServSafe Workshop on Tuesday, July 14th through Thursday, July 16th. The class will meet each day from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on the Forrest City campus in Classroom Building 1 room 107.
Food safety training is a non-negotiable activity for all members of the restaurant and food service industry; it is a highly dangerous gamble to cut corners by reducing or eliminating training. To decrease the risk of food-borne illness outbreaks, food service owners and managers can take advantage of the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe program which provides value beyond certification and is the industry’s best day-to-day food safety resource.
The workshop will address how to keep food-service operations current with updated regulations, best practices and science-based information. This is the only comprehensive food safety program developed by the industry for the industry. Training includes updated cooking times and temperatures for meats, hand washing procedures, new specifications for refrigeration, labeling of foods and a host of other topics.
Class size is limited and registration by July 10th is required. To register contact the EACC Department of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at 870-633-4480 ext. 333, 347 or 289.
