Students in the East Arkansas Community College Design for Manufacturing class recently participated in the annual ‘EV Rally’ for electric cars held at Pulaski Technical College in Little Rock on April 30th.
The students, part of the EACC Advanced Manufacturing Technology program, received a First Place Award in the Troubleshooting Category and Third Place Award in the Range Event (an oval track competition measuring the car’s battery life).
The EV Rally is held each year with approximately 15 community colleges and high schools from around the state participating. Other categories are the Acceleration Event, Academic Bowl Challenge, Oral Presentation, and the Autocross (obstacle run) category.
Instructors for the class are Jack DeLoach and Jim Parker.
