EACC SGA to Hold Fundraiser for Haitian Relief Efforts
The Student Government Association officers of East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City will sponsor a Chili and Hot Dog sale as a “Haiti Earthquake Relief” fundraiser on Tuesday, January 19 & Wednesday, January 20 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the EACC Student Center located on the Forrest City campus.
“We wanted to do something in response to the desperate call for aid for the crisis in Haiti and we felt this is an expedient way to raise money,” said Shautau Berry, SGA President. We will also accept donations for the cause to be sent along with the fundraising proceeds.”
“This effort is an opportunity for our students, faculty, and staff to come together and raise funds for the relief effort,” said Christine Williams, EACC Director of Recruitment & Student Activities. “All proceeds from the sale will go to the Arkansas Greater Chapter of the American Red Cross. They ensured me that all money received that is earmarked for the Haiti Relief will be sent directly to that cause.”
