Press Release- Photo Attached

The Walter N. Moorehead, Sr. Memorial Scholarship at East Arkansas Community College has been awarded to Kayona Williams of Forrest City.

The Moorehead Scholarship was created in an effort to eliminate financial barriers to higher education.

Williams was a 2008 graduate of Forrest City High School and will attend EACC in the fall semester. She hopes to enter the Associate of Applied Science Nursing Program at EACC after graduation and will pursue a career as a registered nurse. After completing her studies at EACC, she plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

“I really appreciate this scholarship,” said Williams. “I will strive for excellence in every area.”

The Mooreheads were both graduates of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Mrs. Moorehead established this scholarship to offer financial assistance to a first-time entering student who plans to receive a transfer degree from EACC.
