EACC presents Dublin Irish Dance’s Stepping Out, a high energy extravaganza of sights and sounds of the Irish culture, on Friday, January 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the EACC Fine Arts Center as part of the 2017-18 performance season’s Spotlight Series. Purchase tickets online!
Through favorite melodies, traditional steps and Celtic instrumentals, Dublin Irish Dance’s Stepping Out, a high energy extravaganza of sights and sounds, tells a story of the Irish immigration to America after the Great Famine of the mid-1800s. Greeted by diverse cultures and rich traditions from around the globe, the new Irish emigrants congregate in dance gatherings where ancient Irish melodies fuse with African rhythms, creating American tap dance and early roots music.
Dublin Irish Dance is an exhilarating company whose members have performed throughout the world with Riverdance, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, and Celtic Woman. With Production and Direction by Eric Cunningham and original choreography by Anthony Fallon, the all-star cast brings to life the epic tale of Celtic culture, carrying its traditional melodies and steps to the New World with a gala celebration of Irish music and dance.
The accomplished Irish step-dancers and musicians take the audience on a journey, exploring the history of the Celtic cultural experience through song and dance. With the lightening-fast footwork of the step dancers, the spirited melodies of an eight-member traditional Irish band, and the lovely sounds of their Irish vocalist, this performance is sure to amaze.
