The EACC Gallery presents Dream Weavers, an exhibition by artist Sandra Marson of Jacksonville, Arkansas. The exhibit will run through Wednesday, September 30th.
Artist Sandra Marson describes her paintings as colorful abstracts designed to create an emotional response and convey feelings of movement. Her pieces are built from elements of design, and she uses asymmetrical composition to give the illusion of depth by overlapping planes to create a sense of pure and unabridged energy and motion.
Marson's artwork and artistic style has been influenced by the collection of underwater photos she captured while diving in the Caribbean. She considers her collection of photos as images of spectacular color from a world few people have the opportunity to experience. Marson's work is considered "overall patterning," which is a format considered difficult to do as the artist weaves together shapes and colors to bring unity to the painting.
Marson is an exhibiting artist at the Arkansas Repertory Theater and the NCA Art Gallery in Fairfield Bay. She has presented solo exhibits including "Dream Weavers" at Christ Church in Little Rock, "Art By Design" at Cox Creative Center in Little Rock, and others. Marson's work has been displayed and featured in numerous art venues, galleries, and shows throughout Arkansas including the Arkansas Arts Center, the Historical Art Museum, and the Galleries at Library Square in Little Rock, as well as the Argenta Library, Laman Library, the Thea in North Little Rock, and more.
