The Community Education and Workforce Development programs at East Arkansas Community College have announced the Summer Schedule of classes for students of every age.
The schedule offers a wide variety of unique Kids on Campus programs and camps including: Children's Theater Camp, Junior Golf Camp, Football Camp, Basketball Camp, Gymnastics, Conditioning and Agility Camp, Youth Horseback Riding, Cheerleading Camp, Let's Grow a Garden, Crime Solvers, The Science Kid, SENSEsational Science, Get Your Baking On, Artists R Us, TieDye Your Summer, Sparkle Like a Unicorn, Under the Sea, Play with Clay Pottery Camp, Slammin' Jammin' Music Lessons, and more!
Students in grades 3rd - 5th will design a mural and learn how to transfer their drawings into larger images using concepts such as scale, grids, and blocking-in during the Paint a Cross-Walk camp in early June. At the end of the camp, children will create their mural on a cross-walk located in downtown Forrest City.
In Exploring the Delta, students will take a journey throughout the Delta. Children will explore different towns to see the Arkansas Delta as the true jewel with a culture and history as unique as the landscape.
Preschool boys and girls ages 3 and 4 will have a blast in the hands-on Barnyard Palooza class. Children will work on art projects pertaining to farm animals, as well as learn about the different kinds of animals. There might even be a couple of surprise guests at the end of the week.
The Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs summer manufacturing camp for ages 14-16 will introduce students to the fascinating, high-tech career choices available to them in today's advanced manufacturing industry. The camp will allow students to make something with their own hands, sparking their imagination and encouraging them to consider a career in manufacturing.
The Personal Interests and Senior Sage (students aged 50+) classes for adults include Yoga, Conditioning, Applied Piano, and more.
The schedule for Professional Development classes includes: Healthcare Provider CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS).
