EACC Children's Theater Camp will present Sleeping Beauty

EACC, the Missoula Children's Theatre, and area children will present Sleeping Beauty, an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale, on the stage in the EACC Fine Arts Center on Friday, June 28th at 6:00 pm.

The play is the culmination of this week's Missoula Children's Theater Camp.  The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) touring production is complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.  MCT Tour Actor/Directors conducted rehearsals throughout the week in preparation for the show.

The Sleeping Beauty production is an original musical adaptation of the classic fairy tale.  A new princess is born, and from far and wide the people of the kingdom gather to celebrate. One simple mistake is made, an invitation is misplaced, and the wrath of the vicious Scarella falls upon the poor infant in the form of a spell. Sleeping Beauty is now destined to sleep for eternity if she should prick her finger on a spindle before she reaches her sixteenth birthday. Sleeping Beauty's Fairy Godmothers do their best to amend the spell, but Scarella, with the help of some nasty Trolls, tricks Sleeping Beauty into pricking her finger and the spell takes effect. Five hundred years pass and Sleeping Beauty wakes to find herself in a Rock 'n Roll dream!  This production is a rock 'n roll fable for the ages, and is definitely no sleeper!

The local cast features Anna Claire Mosby as Younger Sleeping Beauty, Peyton Johnson as Older Sleeping Beauty, Alice Weaver as Scarella, Lila Weaver as Lady-in-Waiting/Madame Butterfly, Garin Woods as King, Addy Carden as Queen, Pasyn Beltran as Spot, Lillian Hennesey as the Town Crier, Genevieve Graves as Court Musician, Avery Halbert as Palace Cook, Norah Rocket as Court Housekeeping Crew, and Helen Claire Jones as Court Guard.  Genta Alsup, Anna Bulkina, Makenzie Davis, and Julia McCraken play the roles of Fairies.  The Trolls will be played by Liam Hennessey, Kori May, Isaac Weaver, and Jase White.  The Caterpillars will be played by Sadie Busby, Pace Kennedy, Elle Machen, Farris Mathis, Reese Midkiff, Elizabeth Niswonger, Sawyer Ramsey, Mary Hollis Stacy, and Dustin Trickey.  The Assistant Director will be Jordan Trickey.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty can be purchased at the door for $5.00 and seating is general admission.  The public is cordially invited to attend.  For more information, contact Nick Hess at 870-633-4480, ext. 331.
