EACC recently received the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) Outstanding School Partner Award. The award recognition was announced at The Lunch Break statewide fundraiser event held at Little Rock's City Center on Thursday, October 17th.
The Outstanding School Partner Award for enrollment under 2,500 was presented to EACC for the College's strong support of ASPSF through financial aid, student support services, advisors, and marketing. Over the past two years, ASPSF student numbers have grown immensely, greatly due to EACC's actions to promote and support the mission of ending single parent poverty.
The ASPSF awards program distinguishes community partners for their exceptional generosity and commitment to single parent success. During the event, EACC was recognized as being a strong supporter and helps ASPSF foster a culture of education among single parent families. Other college finalists for the award included Arkansas Northeastern College and North Arkansas College.
"It is such an honor for EACC to be recognized with this award," said Dr. Cathie Cline, President at EACC. "We are proud to be acknowledged for the outstanding support we provide to our students and the efforts we make so that our students have numerous opportunities to be successful," said Dr. Cline.
"EACC is thankful to have partners such as ASPSF to better serve our students. The mission and goals of their organization align with our efforts as we always look to put student support first," said Adam O'Neal, EACC Vice President for Student Services. "I am proud of our team at EACC as they work so diligently to provide resources for students. Allowing parents to focus more on their children and their studies, as opposed to finances is a win for everyone," he added.
The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund works to create stronger, more educated, and more self-sufficient families. Through scholarships and services, ASPSF opens doors for low-income single parents, helping them pursue education, secure employment, and transform the future for their families. With the help of volunteers and community support, ASPSF creates multigenerational change, transforming lives for both single parents and their children.
