Gainful Employment

1. What are Gainful Employment programs?

Gainful employment programs are programs "that prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation."

Federal regulations require educational institutions to disclose certain information about Title IV eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation.  (34 CFR § 668.7)

2. Why does EACC provide information on Gainful Employment?

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) requires (per 34 CRF §668.7) that all institutions participating in the federal Title IV student financial assistance programs (Pell Grants, federal student loans, etc.) publicly disclose certain data regarding all academic programs designated as "Gainful Employment" programs per DOE definitions.
